Send a Greeting Card to a Wounded Service Member
The Red Cross’s Service to Military Families has once again been asked to review and distribute the greeting cards sent to our country’s wounded service men and women in military hospitals.
How to Send a Greeting
All greeting cards and notes are sorted for appropriate content and repackaged for shipping by Red Cross volunteers. Pitney Bowes, a partner in this program, then helps ship the cards to Red Cross station offices at military hospitals. Cards must be postmarked no later than December 10, and need to be signed. It would be great to include a short note of appreciation! Multiple cards without envelopes may be placed in one mailing envelope or a box that includes a return address. ("Care packages" are not part of the program). Send cards to:

Donate Blood
We are in great need of blood donations so we will be hosting a blood drive at the American Red Cross Office at 1804 North Sixth Street on Wednesday, November 19th from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
Did you know - -
- Someone needs blood every 2 seconds
- One donation can help save up to 3 lives
- One person in a car accident can use as much as 100 pints of blood
- Red Cross provides blood to where it is needed. We make sure our region’s supply is met first but then can help others in need. For example we sent 400 pints of blood to LA for the recent train crash.
- Around 50% of the nation’s blood supply is from the Red Cross, the other 50% is made up off many smaller blood banks.
Please contact Jamie Zuvick at (717) 257-1822 x220 or e-mail zuvichj@usa.redcross.org if you are interested in signing up to donate.
