WINTER SPORT SAFETY
Please heed
the following safety tips from the American Red Cross before engaging
in winter sport activities.
- Be sure
clothing is not too tight and allows freedom of movement.
- Dress
in layers. (Each layer traps air, one of the best insulators.)
- Never
skate alone.
- When planning
to jog from some distance, plot the course against the wind on the way
out and with the wind on the way back.
- When skiing,
know when to stop. Most injuries occur at the end of the day when people
are tired.
- If a cross-country
skiing trip is planned, establish your route and leave the plan with
someone remaining behind.
