American Red Cross to Hold 3rd Annual Fire Safety Day

Harrisburg, PA (May 26, 2010)— The American Red Cross of the Susquehanna Valley will hold its 3rd annual Fire Safety Day on Saturday, June 12th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Camp Curtain YMCA located at 2135 N. 6th Street in Harrisburg. Don’t let your family become one of the 20,000 individuals who are injured during home fires annually. Take the first step in keeping your family safe by attending this free event on Saturday, June 12 th. Sponsored by local organizations the day will include food, fun and facts about fire prevention. Free prizes, games, face painting, caricatures, and a Moonbounce will keep your family entertained while preparing them to be Red Cross Ready.
The mission of the American Red Cross is to help the community prevent and prepare for disasters, and respond to emergencies. Thanks to the efforts of trained volunteers, the American Red Cross is able to respond to local disasters like home fires within our community. We encourage the community to take action that will help them be ready to respond to a disaster through events like the Fire Safety Day on Saturday, June 12th.
