The Love Your Pet Fashion Show was a huge success! Planned by a group of Leadership Volunteers and held at Luther Acres Muhlenberg Lodge on Valentine's Day 2006, the event attracted over 45 residents who wanted to experience the joy of animals. Sixteen volunteers brought their pets out to bring cheer to those who attended. Trixie the miniature horse, Fluffy the Angora bunny, and dogs of all shapes and sizes were dressed up and paraded around so that residents could pet them and learn more about them. Afterwards, the pets and their owners participated in interactive games with the residents. Maggie the dog counted to 4, Peggy Sue the dog played dead, and all the pets took part in a peanut butter eating race. Everyone who attended the event, both volunteer and visitor alike, left with a smile on their face.
