Volunteer Speed Matching for Baby Boomers
Make a love connection...with volunteering. The Red Cross and the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) will hold a volunteer speed matching event for Baby Boomers (ages 46-64) on June 29 from 5-9 p.m. at Borders in Lancaster. Following the rules of speed dating, the event consists of five-minute intervals where “singles”—participants looking to volunteer-- rotate to the various volunteer stations offered by the Red Cross and RSVP. At each station, participants collect a first impression of eight volunteer areas including:
- Disaster Services
- Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT)
- Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
- Youth Education
- Blood Services
After completing all eight rounds, the participant decides what volunteer area will receive the honor of a “second date”. Registration is required prior to the event. For more information, please contact Tom Burnett at 299-5566, ext. 176, or Beth McCauley at 299-5566, ext. 139.
