Animal Assisted Therapy
Local Red Cross volunteers and their pets are trained to bring joy and cheer to residents in area nursing homes and retirement facilities. Seniors enjoy friendly dogs, cats and bunnies. Often, this program increases seniors' communication and motor skills, and gives them something to look forward to each week or month.

VITA volunteers offer free tax assistance by filing Form 1040EZ, Form 1040A or a basic Form 1040 Federal Tax return for elderly citizens, individuals with low incomes and those with disabilities. They also alert tax-payers of special credits and deductions for which they may be eligible. Call (717) 299-5561 for more information about the VITA program or to become a VITA volunteer. Link
