What's been happening at the American Red Cross of the Susquehanna Valley

  

Red Cross Fire Safety Days are held yearly throughout the Susquehanna Valley, especially in communities where incidences of fire are more common. The event in Allison Hill, Harrisburg, June 6th, brought out 700 neighbors to learn about fire safety and the Red Cross (and have a hamburger!). The Fire Department, other response organizations and other non-profit agencies were also there. Local businesses donated food and supplies. 

 

Red Cross Disaster Services Volunteer Christine Skiles chats with Stevens House resident Charles Achey, a retired attorney, at the Aid Center while waiting for word whether residents can return to their homes, following the apartment fire at Stevens House, 10 S Prince Street Lancaster on June 7th.

Red Cross instructor demonstates the usages of an automatic External Defribrulator to a "Save A Life Day" CPR class at Hemfield Recreation Center. The chapter offered 6 free CPR classes for save A Life Day, Held Sat, June 6th

The 20th Annual  American Red Cross Golf Tournament was held on May 15th.  “This year’s event saw more than 200 golfers and 60 business participants.” said Randy Blasdell (shown above starting the tourna, who has chaired the event all twenty years. “This was the fourth year for the poker tournament and we’re hoping to draw more people and raise more money for the vital work of the Red Cross.” All proceeds benefit the American Red Cross of the Susquehanna Valley.
