Adopt a Classroom
Volunteers work one-on-one or in small groups with Elementary School children. The volunteers tutor the students in reading, math and spelling. Scheduling is flexible and the service opportunity is very rewarding.
Animal-Assisted Therapy
Volunteers and their pets are needed for the Animal Assisted Therapy program in both Lebanon and Lancaster Counties. Once your pet is certified as a therapy pet, you are able to visit hospitals, retirement communities and nursing homes.
VITA Tax Assistance
Trained Volunteer Income Tax Assistnace (VITA) volunteers assist the low income, disabled and elderly with the preparation of their tax returns. Volunteers receive a free week-long training in tax assistance by a federal and state trainer. Tax preparers are pass an IRS test to be come certified VITA tax preparers.
APPRISE
Trained volunteers help older persons understand health insurance coverage, determine adequacy of coverage and submit necessary claim forms. Volunteers also assist with the prescription coverage offered through Medicare; also known as Medicare Part D.
