Health & Safety Training

The American Red Cross of the Susquehanna Valley offers several trainings for the community. Local residents are given the opportunity to become certified in vital life-saving techniques such as Adult CPR, Infant & Child CPR, First Aid and AED. Babysitter's Training

What teenagers need to know, and what every parent wants a responsible babysitter to know! American Red Cross Babysitter Training is for boys and girls, age 11-15, with a variety of experience levels. Participants learn how to interview for a babysitting job, how to keep themselves and the children that they watch safe, how to handle life-threatening emergencies and how to market skills acquired through the program to get new babysitting jobs.

Workplace Training

In addition to training community members, the local Red Cross also travels to businesses to teach employees life-saving and safety techniques in the workplace. Many courses such as ergonomics, protect your back and slips, trips and falls are specifically designed to benefit business persons.

Aquatics Training

Since 1914, the American Red Cross has been the leader in aquatic education for people of all ages and abilities. Highly trained and professional instructors teach everything from home pool safety to seven different levels of learn-to-swim instruction. With American Red Cross Lifeguard Training you will get complete skills instruction, spinal injury management and learn valuable first aid training and CPR for the professional rescuer. Water Safety Tips

Disaster Education

The disaster courses offered by the American Red Cross are aimed to train current disaster volunteers the best methods of response if an emergency would occur in the Susquehanna Valley. However, these courses are open to the community for disaster preparation purposes.
Fire Safety Tips

Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation Program

The Pennsylvania Department of Aging has contracted with Promissor to develop, score, and report the results of the competency examination to the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry. The American Red Cross of the Susquehanna Valley works with Promissor to schedule and administer the examination.
