TRANSPORTATION

Transportation should not prevent RSVP volunteers from being active. If volunteers drive, RSVP will reimburse them at the maximum rate allowed by the program ($20.00 per month).

To be refunded, volunteers must report miles driven on a “Transportation Report for RSVP” form. This form can be obtained from the RSVP office. Refundable mileage includes the distance driven between the volunteer’s home and his/her station. (Any mileage accumulated while running errands for the volunteer station cannot be paid by RSVP.)

If volunteers do not drive, RSVP will provide taxi transportation tickets to those who are not close to a bus stop (1/4 mile) or has a disability that prevents them from riding the bus. This bus is free for senior citizens, and they are encouraged to use it. If there is a disability, a disability form must be signed by a physician and returned with the application. All these forms can be obtained through our Lancaster office and by calling 299-5561.

Becoming an RSVP volunteer is easy! Pick up the phone to begin what will be the experience of a lifetime! Call 299-5561 (in Lancaster County) or 273-2671 (in Lebanon County) today!
