COMMUNITY SERVICES

The American Red Cross is community-based organization. All programs and services are for the benefit of neighbors in the Susquehanna Valley. You can build a better and safer community by volunteering with the local Red Cross.

Animal Assisted Therapy

Visit nursing homes and other agencies with your pets. Animal Assisted Therapy involves the interactions of pets and residents with guidance from the volunteer. Together, the volunteer and the pet can help brighten a resident’s day.
NOTE: All human volunteers must bring their animal to the chapter, present a current record of the animal’s shots and a photo of the animal for a photo ID. If you do not have one, a photo may be taken in the office. Shot records must be resubmitted as the pet’s shots are updated. It is required that volunteers participate in at least one workshop.
