Water Safety

The Red Cross promotes safety in and around the water. Volunteers help as instructors or instructor aides for the following: Learn to Swim Program Infant & Pre-School Aquatics Longfellow's Whales Tales Lifeguard Training Guardstart (pre-lifeguarding preparedness) Basic Water Rescue

Babysitter's Training

This very popular American Red Cross course stresses safety and decision-making for 11-15 year-olds who babysit or wish to babysit. Adult volunteers (17+) are trained as instructors or instructor aides to teach at any of our satellite locations. Youth volunteers can train to be instructor aides for this course.

First Aid/CPR

There is an extensive list of courses and sessions that teach first aid and/or CPR skills. HIV Education

In cooperation with the Centers for Disease Control, the Red Cross is a leader in teaching the facts about HIV and AIDS.
